Sandra Atkinson, Salon Owner & Senior Stylist.

Sandy has been our business owner for the last 17 years, while being behind the chair for the last 34. Her first love is family with the beauty industry as a close second. As far as education goes, Sandy has attended many classes: Minneapolis Minnesota Aveda Congress, Manardi, Paul Mitchell, and Redken Exchage. As well as trade shows in Rhode Island, Boston, and New York.

Sandy’s area of expertise would be in hair cutting and shaping. “I enjoy creating a beautiful haircut that best suits my client’s facial shape and their lifestyle.” Her favorite activity outside of the salon is being on the boat with friends and family.

Donna Seluke Zanardi, Stylist & Color Specialist.

Donna opened A Style Above Designs in 1977. Her passion for her work is never lost on her clients or coworkers. Education has always been a priority for Donna, attending: Toni & Guy, Dallas, TX, Redken Exchange, 5th Ave. New York, NY, Graham Web, Washington, DC, Jingles of London and Aveda Congress, to name a few. Color and color correction are her specialties.

Donna is inspired by her two daughters: Alexandra and Chloe. She enjoys staying active and spending time with her friends and family. An affirmation that Donna lives by: “I believe it takes a whole lifetime to build a human heart.”

Elaine Mozonski, Senior Stylist.

Elaine has been a stylist for over 50 years. Although Elaine is a well rounded stylist, she loves to transform tired hairstyles into current and uplifting looks. Although she has spent most of her career in Farmington, she loves her place at A Style Above. 

When she is not in the salon, you can find her in East Haddam or spending time with family

Trish Castelli, Salon Cordinator and Receptionist.

We’re not sure where to start with all the things Trish contributes to our salon. Trish has been our backbone for the last 10+ years. She has not only been the big smile behind the desk, but also a friend to clients. Although Trish is not a stylist, she takes care of all the things that go overlooked to make the business and appointments run as smooth as possible. She has been our right hand women day in and day out. She is always there whether it’s a joke, hug, or advice that’s needed. When Trish is not at the salon, you can find her somewhere by the water at her home in Rhode Island as well as Florida. She is accompanied by her husband, children, and grandchildren. We could not be more thankful for her dedicating her time to our Salon. We love you!
