Sandra Atkinson, Salon Owner & Senior Stylist.
Sandy has been our business owner for the last 17 years, while being behind the chair for the last 34. Her first love is family with the beauty industry as a close second. As far as education goes, Sandy has attended many classes: Minneapolis Minnesota Aveda Congress, Manardi, Paul Mitchell, and Redken Exchage. As well as trade shows in Rhode Island, Boston, and New York.
Sandy’s area of expertise would be in hair cutting and shaping. “I enjoy creating a beautiful haircut that best suits my client’s facial shape and their lifestyle.” Her favorite activity outside of the salon is being on the boat with friends and family.
Donna Seluke Zanardi, Stylist & Color Specialist.
Donna opened A Style Above Designs in 1977. Her passion for her work is never lost on her clients or coworkers. Education has always been a priority for Donna, attending: Toni & Guy, Dallas, TX, Redken Exchange, 5th Ave. New York, NY, Graham Web, Washington, DC, Jingles of London and Aveda Congress, to name a few. Color and color correction are her specialties.
Donna is inspired by her two daughters: Alexandra and Chloe. She enjoys staying active and spending time with her friends and family. An affirmation that Donna lives by: “I believe it takes a whole lifetime to build a human heart.”
Wendy Morello, Senior Stylist.
Wendy has been behind the chair at A Style Above for the last
30 years. She attended the Crown Academy. Her continuing education includes but is not limited to, Manardi Classes, Redken Exchange, and numerous Paul Mitchell Classes. She not only has interest in hair cutting and styling, but also a range of color. When Wendy isn’t at the salon you can find herself traveling to family and go to the beach.
Deb O'Neil, Senior Stylist.
Debbie has been behind the chair for the last 42 years, and at one point perused her own goals as a salon owner. You can always hear laughing from Debs work station, she truly loves to connect with her clients. Debbie has also been well known for doing hair for popular talents that show at the Goodspeed in East Haddam!
Elaine Mozonski, Senior Stylist.
Elaine has been a stylist for over 50 years. Although Elaine is a well rounded stylist, she loves to transform tired hairstyles into current and uplifting looks. Although she has spent most of her career in Farmington, she loves her place at A Style Above.
When she is not in the salon, you can find her in East Haddam or spending time with family
Amanda Filacchione, Senior Stylist.
Amanda has been in the industry for over 25 years. Amanda began her journey as a nail technician, as well as a salon coordinator. She then expanded her talents in hair, becoming a stylist. She looks forward to creating color and styles you want to achieve. With the support of her husband Evan, and her two sons Gavin and Travis.
Alexxi Williams, Junior Stylist.
Alexxi began her hair career once graduating from The European Academy Of Cosmetology And Hairdressing, now presented as TIGI Academy. She has been with us for the last 5 years. She looks forward to making her clients look and feel more confident in themselves before leaving their appointment. Although most of her work presents itself as lived in blondes, this past year she furthered her education and became certified in a popular service doing hand-tied extensions. When Alexxi is not at the salon you can find her spending time with her friends and family. Her favorite quote: ‘To be beautiful means to be yourself. You don’t need to be accepted by others. You just need to accept yourself’
Kendra Millspaugh, Junior Stylist and Receptionist.
Kendra is the newest addition to our team at A Style Above, she recently graduated cosmetology school and is ready for the world of beauty. Kendra is currently our assistant at the salon and will be taking clients soon. She is furthering her goals as shes is working towards becoming certified in lashes, as well as offering makeup applications. Kendra’s passion for this industry started when she was young and would do her hair and makeup for her dance competitions and theater shows. She later became a model and moved to NYC and her passion for the beauty industry grew.
Trish Castelli, Salon Cordinator and Receptionist.
We’re not sure where to start with all the things Trish contributes to our salon. Trish has been our backbone for the last 10+ years. She has not only been the big smile behind the desk, but also a friend to clients. Although Trish is not a stylist, she takes care of all the things that go overlooked to make the business and appointments run as smooth as possible. She has been our right hand women day in and day out. She is always there whether it’s a joke, hug, or advice that’s needed. When Trish is not at the salon, you can find her somewhere by the water at her home in Rhode Island as well as Florida. She is accompanied by her husband, children, and grandchildren. We could not be more thankful for her dedicating her time to our Salon. We love you!
